Frequently Asked Questions

How is my data stored?

Your data is stored locally on your device. Cloud sync is on by default in some apps (you can turn it off in the app). When it is on, data is also synchronized through your private cloud account (for example, Apple iCloud) and encrypted by your device provider. We do not have access to your data.

How do I back up or export my data?

If sync is on, your data is also kept in your private cloud account. For a file you can save elsewhere, use Export in the app's settings. Some apps omit certain items from that file (for example, photos).

My data isn't syncing across devices

Make sure you're signed into the same cloud account on all devices and that cloud sync is turned on in the app. On iPhone, also check Settings → [your name] → iCloud if sync still fails.

How do I delete my data?

Use the in-app delete option while cloud sync is still on — that removes the data on the device and then syncs the deletion to your private cloud. Turning sync off, or deleting the app, does not erase data already in iCloud. If the app is already gone, remove its data in your device's iCloud settings (on iPhone: Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage). Calendar events an app already wrote to the Calendar app may remain until you delete that calendar.

I found a bug or have a feature request

We'd love to hear from you. Email us at contact@jl-apps.xyz with the details and we'll take a look.

I paid but the app still looks locked

Purchases are tied to your Apple Account. Use Restore Purchases in the app (same Apple ID you bought with). Refunds are handled by Apple, not us.

Should I email you my export file?

No. Never send an export. That file can include names, notes, and other personal details. For a bug, tell us the app version and what you tapped — not your data.
